A remarkably accurate prophecy

In the mid 1970’s I read a book called  Battle for Israel by Lance Lambert from the UK. In it, he describes a prophecy. The story behind this prophecy is that a bishop of the Russian Orthodox church, Bishop Aristocoli,  handed it to Mother Barbara shortly before she moved to Israel in 1911. It’s a political prophecy, and, with the benefit of hindsight, especially considering when it was written,  absolutely remarkable for its accuracy. (You can find the prophecy in several places on the Internet.) When I first read it, only some of it had been fulfilled and over the decades I’ve often thought of it as I’ve watched world events unfold.

Here’s what the prophecy says:

“Not one country will be without trial – do not be frightened by anything you will hear. An evil will shortly take Russia and wherever this evil comes, rivers of blood will flow. This evil will take the whole world and wherever it goes, rivers of blood will flow because of it.

It is not the Russian soul, but an imposition on the Russian soul. !t is not an ideology, or a philosophy, but a spirit from hell.

In the last days Germany will be divided in two. France will just be nothing. Italy will be judged by natural disasters. Britain will lose her empire and all her colonies and will come to almost total ruin, but will be saved by praying women.

America will feed the world, but will finally collapse. Russia and China will destroy each other. Finally, Russia will be free, and from her believers will go forth and turn many from the nations to God.”

In 1911, who could have imagined the impact of Russian Communism? Or that Britain would lose her empire? (I believe Britain was saved by praying women–Britain was at the brink of financial and political ruin when Lydia prayer groups began, and Margaret Thatcher was a woman who prayed.) Who could have imagined that Germany would be divided in two? What are we seeing in America?

However, this is not the total prophecy. It was prefaced by some words concerning women:

“Tell the women they must belong absolutely to God. They must believe in the great things that are happening and that God is doing on the earth. They must prepare their souls, their children and their husbands. And they will have very much work to do for God. Oh, what a great work the women will have to do in the end time, and the men will follow them.”

Makes one think…

What implications do you think it has for today?

I have been unable to find this prophecy. I have found an abridged version from numerous sites, but have not been able to find the complete copy of this prophecy. Would it be possible for you to provide a link to the complete prophecy? THANKS!

Sorry, Felicity, that link is now a 404 error! So, another link I assume exists?

Yea I keep telling my conservative friends that all their efforts to re-christianize America will not work.

I have stood in Red Square and heard/felt the blood crying out from the stones. I have also stood in a small Bible college near Kavarovsk, Russia where ex-cons are studying for the ministry. There I saw/felt the Spirit of God moving on and in a people who were once the dreaded enemies of freedom.

That Russian missionaries would be going out into the world seems like such an amazing contrast to the Russia of my American childhood. And yet, yes, I believe the men I met that day in 2000 are impacting their nation for God even now. And yes, I can see them impacting places American missionaries cannot possibly go, due to political constraints…nations such as Belarus and Cuba.

This prophecy is very interesting to me in many ways. Particularly in it’s charge to women. Eve was beguiled by the serpent and women have been largely relegated to the place of second-class beings because of that. They were the first victims of satan’s lies and it seems wonderfully…and ironically…appropriate to me that these undervalued, overlooked nurturers should have a prominent place in God’s plan to bring him down.

I love it when God does things like that!

I remember this prophecy from years ago – I was part of Lydia for some years.
The serpent deceived male and female – Man (male and female) was deceived.
Yet the consequences (not a curse from God) of that lack of trust in God
has meant many things, including women being downtrodden, as they
continue to downtread the serpent in some ways that males don’t (generally speaking). It would be even better to work as One in Him though – showing His original Creation of Human.
I can prepare my children, now adults, have done and continue to – I find I cannot
‘prepare’ my husband – not sure it is my calling to – hopefully influence for good.

I remember Lydia too and always thought of them in relation to this prophecy. And I agree with you that it has been a consequence of the fall, as opposed to an edict from God, that women have been downtrodden. Good thoughts!

[…] In 1911 the Mother Barbara Prophecy foretold the great shaking of the nations that is now taking place. “Not one country will be without trial but do not be frightened of anything you will hear. An evil will shortly take Russia and wherever this evil comes, rivers of blood will flow… In the last days Germany will be divided in two. France will just be nothing. Italy will be judged by natural disasters. Britain will lose her Empire and all her colonies and will come to almost total ruin, but will be saved by praying women. America will feed the world but will finally collapse….” (more information here). […]

Perhaps it’s time to revisit this post and this prophecy, albeit 4 years after it first appeared on your blog . The dire state of the UK today suggests so. I am interested particularly in the aspect of “praying women.” In a way, it seems rather an unusual phrasing to use, considering that out of all those saints who are committed intercessors that only the women would be effectual in this case. I myself pray regularly for Britain and I wouldn’t want to think that my prayers towards breaking a spiritual stronghold of darkness are in vain. Another thing is that some copies of the text of the prophecy use the words “praying enthroned women.” I wonder why this difference exists and what that signifies? It could be, for example, that the women referred to are from the Royal Family (and/or politicians holding high office) and that they take the lead, in a manner similar to the prophet Daniel. I’m reminded of King George VI, who called for a national day of prayer for the looming disaster at Dunkirk, and how in subsequent days the channel waters were still enough to enable the little ships to play their role in the evacuation of troops. If something like this were to happen again, initiated by Royals, then maybe we could see an even bigger miracle in our times.

Interesting… I’ve never seen the version “praying enthroned women.” But I wondered a number of years ago if it could refer to Maggie Thatcher as well as the queen. Most of the prophecy has already been clearly fulfilled. I love your last comments about Dunkirk and the possibility of the Royals….
