Why Did Jesus Come?

There are four statements in the New Testament that specifically describe why Jesus came.

1. John 10:10  The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I
   have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
2. Luke 4:18-19  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.
3. Luke 19:10  For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.
4. 1 John 3:8  But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
